Colorful Fine Jewelry Made the Ethical & Sustainable Way
In contrast to the open pit and underground mining associated with the Earth’s largest diamond mines, colored gems are often mined with little more than a shovel, bucket and rope. If the deposit is near an active river or stream, mining will consist of shoveling gravel into a pan, where any gem crystals present are extracted by hand. Gemstones do not have to be washed out by acids and alkalis, but are broken out of the rock mechanically or found free floating. All that is needed is a little soap to clean off extra debris.

We are a family owned business who works exclusively with miners in Sri Lank, Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam. These communities do not employ children in the operations and women manage the administration. A portion of every sale supports education for employees’ children, from building schools to paying for supplies.

All jewelry is designed and handmade in the USA. Our manufacturing operation is based in Los Angles, California.

Gold can be recycled without losing its quality, so it can be reused multiple times which is a much more sustainable solution than mining. Gold mining requires new sources of gold that are naturally formed, but these sources are depleting and the environment is being destroyed on the hunt for new gold sources. Recycled gold will never lose its value or purity.

We use recycled and lab-diamonds.
We exclusively partnered a manufacturer who produces carbon-negative diamonds. Carbon from the atmosphere is converted into diamonds. The process removes 20 metric tons of pollution from the atmosphere for every one-carat diamond made.
Recycled diamonds can be from clients who wish to redesign inherited jewelry. Other sources include purchasing from reputable suppliers and having the diamonds recut or thoroughly cleaned to be new again.
Sustainable diamonds are much better for the earth environmentally since mining diamonds has a huge impact on climate change. For every one carat that is mined from the earth, up to 250 tons of earth is removed, 127 gallons of fresh water used, and billions of gallons of water are contaminated with acid runoff. Additionally, 143 pounds of air pollution are emitted and gallons of fossil fuels used.
